MIT Tech Review: DECODED
August 2017
World Wide Web
THE CHALLENGE
MIT Technology Review wanted to bring their groundbreaking content in science and technology to a wider audience.
THE SOLUTION
We pitched and launched a series of "explainer" videos, which broke down complex technological concepts into bite-sized, digestible pieces of content. In partnership with Chilean animation house Sulfurica, we produced the first video on DNA editing technology CRISPR: a breakthrough technology that will shape the way we conquer with diseases and more in the future. I was the liaison between the animation team, my agency, and MIT Technology Review in order to maintain a unified process. It was a personal challenge, as I had to quickly educate myself in DNA editing in order to build a storyboard, hone in on the appropriate aesthetic, and write an accurate, factual script.
THE RESULTS
Production for MIT Technology Review's video on CRISPR has launched, which was received positively amongst the MIT TR community while traction and recognition was gained amongst a new audience. We are working on building out more videos featuring the latest and most important in science.
